This is the absolute worst company that I have ever worked for. Scientists are treated like dirt. People are appointed to managers or even directors that have no management skills or history. Favoritism is rampant. Science is not valued at this company. The only thing that matters is meeting monthly revenue goals. If they are not met - BEWARE- your job is in peril.

People without any management experience are put in roles they are not qualified for (over people who have been at the company for decades). I was placed under a supervisor with no previous management experience or training. They used offensive language and verbal attacks that made me incredibly uncomfortable and did not know how to effectively communicate with their group members. Management likes to use a tactic of "letting secrets leak." They let some information about big changes slip out which creates an atmosphere of paranoia and anxiety. Other than that, there is no transparency. Expect to come to work one day and have a completely new supervisor. I had five different supervisors within a year. The favorites complaint is very valid. New committees or teams will be created that consist of all the same people. However, management will later claim that they were voluntary positions, yet no one was ever informed. Supervisors will just place their favorites on these teams and no one else is given an opportunity to participate. This is especially important since you get knocked on your review for not participating in activities outside your job. Also, one day some girl was walking the boss's dog and then randomly gets a promotion. And expect anyone who is dating/married to someone in management to get a higher position or promotion regardless of their qualifications. The lab has a revolving door. Do not expect to be treated as a valued employee. My original supervisor barely spoke to me after hiring me. My only other encounters were being told I was being switched to another group about every three months. Also, a majority of the analysts are all miserable. Don't expect people to be friendly and welcoming, instead expect mean glares. But don't worry, after some time there, you will soon understand. A majority of the project managers had no scientific background. They would often promise testing to clients that we weren't even capable of. Or they never had any idea what they were talking about. The paperwork was always messed up and the lab would get in trouble with "critical errors" because they had a typo on an instruction sheet. I wouldn't wish this job on my worst enemy,
