I wouldn't recommend this place to smart people.

Pros

My co-workers were hardworking, smart, and friendly people, but most of them are gone.

Cons

This place sucks in almost every way. The two amigos totally ruined this place. Poor management decisions lead to firing of scapegoats, not the people actually making the decisions. My advice is to believe the negative reviews and stay away from this place. Management does not care about their employees, they basically use them, fake a smile, and expect them to work like dogs. Management (two amigos) constantly hounding techs for timelines and setting unrealistic deadlines on projects without taking into account what really goes into the R&D. "Everything is a priority".

Pros

If you need to get some experience out of college, this could be the place for you. But you will be constantly overworked , and will not have a work-life balance. Also, if you are a PhD, you will be performing mostly jobs suited for technicians, regardless of what your job description says. And you will be writing reports over reports, then spending time in countless meetings. Besides this, you will still be expected to do an 8 hour work in the remaining 1-2 hours of your official workday (hence you will have to spend long hours overtime). The team is knowledgeable and you will be able to learn skills that will propel you to your next phase of your career, but do not expect that you will be working here more then 2 years.

Cons

It is a madhouse, the turn-over rate is about 85%, so you will constantly need to work your butt off, just to maintain yourself above the sinking level. The CEO is only interested in his own bonus, does not give a hoot about any of the employees regardless at what level below him. Also, he does not care if even the best of the employees will leave, this contributing to the very high turnover rate. Although compensation seems competitive at first look, keep in mind that you will be required to work at least 1.5 times more then what should be the norm, and with that in mind, the compensation is way below average. This because somebody is always quitting their job, and that adds a lot of strain to the teams. If you like working 10-12 hour days with not much support or help, in a constantly changing environment where you will be the required to do a lot with very little, then this is the place for you. Otherwise: run fast, run far.

Pros

If you're lucky enough to land at the Wilmington site, it's a beautiful place to live.

Cons

This place is a house of cards that will fall at any moment. They lack respect for their employees and have a laughable bonus structure. The past few years bonuses were so low, you couldn't even cover dinner and drinks with the payout after taxes. The culture here is oppressive and it's a fend for yourself environment. You'll see behaviors and hear commentary that is not appropriate for a professional workplace. All the teams are stretched past capacity and leadership cannot align its priorities. Too many selfish leaders looking out only for their career growth. All the former employees I've run into in the industry have their own horror story about this place. You will need thick skin to work here and there is no work life balance to help offset the constant insanity. The reviews written portray a bad work environment but are far worse in real life. It's sad because there are enough good people to make the day bearable but not enough to redeem all that is bad. You've been warned.
