This review isn't very constructive but we'll address it anyway. Let's take them in reverse order: 6. Unrealistic expectations: Our clients are working to cure disease. Hence, meeting their needs is our number 1 priority. Expectations are high but not unrealistic. Our employees take great pride in the role they play in this critical work. 5. No communication - coworkers don't tell each other things needed in order to get things done: this is something every employee can contribute to everyday, including the author of this review before they left. It takes personal accountability. 4. Toxic culture: we disagree. Our culture is unique, like every company, and it may not be a fit for everybody. It's fast paced, with high expectations, high behavior standards and a lot of change recently (and in the future). We also have a lot of fun. We have many ways for employees to contribute beyond their normal job. We have many avenues for people to grow their careers...and much more. "Toxic" is an easy headline grabber of a word but it is simply wrong. The reason I know that is because... 3. HIGH Turnover: is false. Turnover at Aldevron is not out of the ordinary. Fargo and Madison have very strong economies and over the last two years turnover has been cut in half. Could it be less? Yes and we'll continue drive it down but for our industry and geography it's not out of the ordinary. 2. No training or professional development opportunities: Survey says......false! From an awesome orientation program to tons of internal promotion opportunities to LinkedIn Learning to Afternoon of Learning events to job specific training to many more...the author should have put a little more thought into this one (and the other 5). 1. Poor leadership: we'll agree to disagree.

Pros

This job provides great lab experience. The pay is decent and coworkers have been friendly and helpful

Cons

They are growing faster than they can accommodate. They make drastic changes constantly with little to no consideration for manufacturing at all. They remind their employees constantly that they can be replaced and have no regard for their well being. Any time the company makes money or advances in any way you will not see any of it unless you're a vp or higher. On a scale of 1-5 (5 being a great employee) you can't exceed 3 per their words/system. They will change your schedule, responsibilities, and teams and they will show you the door if you don't like it. Be ready for 50+ hours a week

Toxic culture and unpleasant work experience

Pros

Benefits are decent, some colleagues are genuinely nice.

Cons

Toxic culture and sometimes it is very difficult to deal with the ego of some people on the management team. The company has seen very high turnover rate, which is not surprising. Employees are treated like commodities. Training for new hires is non-existent.

Thank you for the feedback. I appreciate it. Please feel free to come and speak to me or any members of the HR team at any time. Our turnover has been higher than we’d like as you point out. We agree that the onboarding of new employees is key and needs to be improved. You will see goals set and actions taken around that in 2019. Thank you for the feedback on the benefits. We are proud of what we offer and will continue to evaluate it and make changes as needed to attract and retain the best people.
