The work was very interesting and challenging and the people were great to work with. The work felt pretty meaningful since we worked in the military language training space.
Cons
A lot of management decisions didn't make sense; a lot of management overhead in general.
Due to being a government contractor there was a lot of weird restrictions on things (free sodas not allowed) and time tracking was a bit onerous.
Academic environment, you will have lots of opportunities to learn. Great location. Flexible schedule. Some personal development workshops. Small company feels like a start-up.
Cons
Not a lot of room for personal or career growth. Management are not "people persons".
