Toxic Culture/Growing too fast

Pros

Strong knowledge base; really smart people that care about their clients. Fast paced for those who thrive in that environment.

Cons

Overworked; leadership does not realize the pressure on the field with lack of staff and higher expectations because they are all focused on the bottom line and not the people. Culture has gone downhill. CEO turns a cheek and does not deal with the issues. HR has one of the most unprofessional, disrespectful leaders I have ever met in my career.

Pros

Growing rapidly, met some good people and created some lasting relationships, Bagel day/Fruit on first day of the month

Cons

If you are an older, white, male - Alera Group is the place for you! It literally pays to know someone in management here. If you have an 'in' with the "Boys Club," you will have no problem getting promoted. Although they will never admit it, many managers show preferential treatment to employees that are related to someone else at Alera Group or are buddies with outside of work. Leadership lacks diversity. There are not many women or minorities in leadership roles and sadly, there are no initiatives to make the company more inclusive. HR is non-existent.

Not the Worst

Pros

They don't try to change too much of what makes individual firms successful.

Cons

Senior Leadership seems lost or incompetent when it comes to creating one collaborative company. Technology systems are disjointed, and lack any real cohesion across firms. Technology dept is lacking any real senior leadership. Benefits are mediocre, and are much worse than before Alera came into the picture. The company is solely focused on buying as many companies as possible, rather than knowing how to actually run a business. The intranet site is a mess with little organization, and a pain to even login to.
