Pros

Great benefits and wellness programs Flexible hours and shifts Four day work weeks (operations) Plenty of overtime opportunities Great mission statements

Cons

Lack of morale with the senior techs To work in operations you HAVE to start as a temp Operations is under appreciated and very underpaid CONSTANT training because AlloSource is hiring so many new people so there are inexperienced people training the newest people Push for more and more output, yet the staggered shift plus overtime creates lack of room and equipment availability Coming in for overtime means searching for equipment and stealing rooms Annomosity between the shifts due to differing work loads (less is expected depending on the supervisor) Inconsistent expectations for operations

Thank you for your positive comments on your time so far at AlloSource. We appreciate your passion for our organization. We work hard to provide a great working environment and competitive benefits for our employees. Additionally, we conduct an annual review of salaries and analyze both nonprofit and for-profit companies in comparative industries to help ensure we offer competitive pay. We are a unique organization because we are entrusted with donated human tissue, so our business decisions are made differently than other organizations. As an industry leader in allograft technology, we balance our commitment to donors with our drive to innovate new solutions to help patients heal.

Pros

-Great Benefits. -Good entry level pay for those with and without college degrees. -The ability to get raises periodically, and advance into higher paying positions.

Cons

-Too many managers (Think of the movie Office Space). -The company has an identity crisis between being driven by a donor oriented mission, and being driven by monetary wealth. -CEO rakes in almost 1 million dollars per year while 80% of company employees make less than 100k per year. This is in a company with less than 1000 employees.

Just a Grunt

Pros

Not much to speak on if you work in the core. If you are an office worker, it makes a huge difference.

Cons

Extraordinarily low pay for the mental and physical demands of the job. They have a very hard time with retention rates for many reasons, mostly the low pay. They did, however, recently create a senior and master level title to the technicians that comes with a raise, but it is still abysmally low for the type of work performed. They treat the technicians very poorly, ESPECIALLY compared to the office workers, and you are seen as just some grunts that produce everything the company sells and the senior leadership team and executive leadership team will benefit from. Allosource is, somehow, considered a Not-for-profit company, so their tax information is available to the public, so I encourage you to look it up and see for yourself how much the gap in pay is between the top earners and the technicians - the ones who do the hardest work. (ie - the CEO makes well over $1mil/year and the techs are around $45-50k/year.... meaning we techs have to work about 20 years without spending any money to make the same as the CEO does in one year. And that is WITHOUT bonus. Techs only make 5% bonus with all kinds of stipulations to prevent you from achieving it, and the executives make at least 20%...)

Thank you for your feedback and hard work over the years. We conduct an annual review of salaries based on non-profit and for-profit data to help ensure we offer competitive pay for the jobs we offer. That being said, we recently conducted internal surveys and, as a result, we have made adjustments to the technical career path, creating opportunities for each technician to establish monetary and professional growth here at AlloSource. We sincerely value each employee’s dedication to honor the gift of tissue donation and hope that you feel valued as a team member.
