Pros

It’s a job and the schedule is okay

Cons

This non profit is all profit. The CEO is possibly a huge narcissist. Once, he emailed the entire company very upset that no one told him thank you for buying the employees lunch. Even though he bought it to say thank you to the employees? He then sent a book about gratification to the entire company. Management is terrible. They promote their friends and advertise positions that aren’t accurate. Such as their pay raises. Insurance is insanely expensive if you have a family.

Thank you for taking time to share your perspective. As a learning organization, feedback helps us with continuous improvement. We conduct fair hiring practices for external and internal candidates, and review salaries and benefits annually to ensure we offer employees competitive compensation. Based on this ongoing process, we feel our benefits, pay grades, and raises are fair based on comparative nonprofit and for-profit companies. Pros

Some really great people work there and I made some good friends.

Cons

Employee retention is at an abysmal 30% You have to ask yourself why. If you are in processing you are treated as disposable. Despite training taking up to 6 months depending on the department you are treated as completely replaceable and as nothing more than a work horse. Overtime can become mandatory to make up for the missing staff. Conditions are terrible, the summers are boiling hot and the winters are freezing cold. You are expected to work with dangerous equipment without hazard pay. Pay is approximately livable if you get a shift differential but do not expect any more unless you work a ton of overtime. There is little to no opportunity for advancement, they dangle the hope in front of you and then take it away expecting you to continuously add more responsibility for no extra pay. Efficiency is rewarded with more work. Do not be fooled into thinking this is a STEM job for college graduates! It is a factory position. Hard, demanding labor for supervisors who have no idea what your job is. Avoid Allosource.

We appreciate the work you did every day to honor the gift of donation entrusted to AlloSource. We value our employees and review salaries regularly to ensure we offer competitive pay and opportunities. In fact, we have just increased the starting pay for new technicians and current technicians working in the Core. Working in a cleanroom setting can be physically demanding and we are clear with potential applicants about what the job entails. We appreciate the work you did for us and wish you the best as you continue to grow your career.
