Pros

Pay is generally good, at least for project managers. They do provide a lot of basic tools is you have no experience and want to learn project management.

Cons

Since Paul Black took over as CEO Its not what you know, its who's butt you kiss. If you are not into tickling ears and telling people what they want to hear, this is not the place for you. They act like they want peoples opinions and welcome suggestions for how to improve, but don't fall for it. Once you give an opposing viewpoint you are label and "not a team player" or "inflexible and not willing to get on board with the program". Once that happens they start secretly viewing your emails and IMs. and looking over your shoulder on everything to find something to use to get rid of you. Working at Allscripts is like working for the Gestapo - you must watch every word you say, you never know who to trust and must constantly be watching your back. Never seen so many people lie straight to your face.

Pros

Salaries generally appear to be in line with industry standard. Coworkers generally and genuinely care about what they do for a living and care about their clients.

Cons

There is a subculture of working until you drop. 10 hour days are the starting point. Nights and weekends are almost mandatory in order to keep up with the workload. Some managers aggressively pursue their own agendas, which are clearly in conflict with Corporate agenda, as defined by the current CEO who asked for a kinder, gentler approach to working together. Employees are leaving certain regions - either voluntarily or not - via transfer and resignation. HR is oblivious or, worse, complicit with this approach. I have never worked for a company with an HR department who was less 'present.'
