Pros

Good office, facilities, compensation Relaxed environment, practically a problem of plenty - more people than the intended amount of work resolting in people making use of the office facilities for personal recreation

Cons

Senior management lacks vision, silos work between teams, peers Large scale politics, all of senior staff in India from a single company Lack of recognition, poor product roadmap and planning Agile mode for defining requirements sucks big time

Merger Mania = Chaos

Pros

When the company was pre-Misys merger, Allscripts was a nice place to work. Good benefits, decent pay, and some talented folks as colleagues. Post-Misys merger, it became a cluster and free for all.

Cons

One year post merger, it's still chaos. There are little fiefdoms of Allscripts vs. Misys, with much resentment from the legacy Misys folks. Some folks have assimilated nicely and made the best of the merger, but many resent the forced Misys culture which is very formal and fashioned by the Harvard Business Model (translation: it's all about the money, with little regard for the people factor). There is high burn-out because of the dominance of travel positions, and the high percentage of remote-based employees means you may never meet your manager in person. Post merger, Allscripts laid off roughly 10% of different areas, but those lucky enough to be retained are not necessarily the cream of the crop. Lay-off decisions seemed to have been more political - if your manager was part of the corporate inner circle, you kept your job. Meanwhile, some talented folks were let go because their manager didn't have the connections to fight for them.

Pros

1. Too less to do. 2. Lots of time for personal work.

Cons

1. No senior management taking responsibility for anything. 2. Immense politics among verticals (Support/ Finance/ HR/ Software development). 3. Out of the world HR (As they are never seen to a common employee) 4. Incompetent, brainless employees hired across verticals. 5. Worst treatment one would get if resigned :). 6. Eclipsys basically is a set of 2-3 companies ex-employees working/fighting together to prove their point other than work.
