Pros

Pay and benefits are alright

Cons

They try to overwork you to the point you're constantly working unpaid overtime just to keep up. So much micromanaging and upper management clearly has no ideas what they are doing. Anytime a problem is identified they only discuss work arounds rather than actual solutions. They have consistently made it more and more difficult to do the job while expecting the same speed and results. It is an absolute cluster there, avoid it at all costs!

Pros

My pay was a little above the industry average. My direct leader was cool, and a few of my team members

Cons

Terrible work life balance- I was expected to be available to respond to my work phone and emails on my days off at all hours. No ethical compass- in a focus on cutting costs acting ethically was thrown to the side. Complete disregard for employee wellbeing, there is a focus on returning to profitability at all costs, no regard to what it means for employees. In addition as a member of the LGBT+ community, I felt like I couldn't be myself at work. There was also an incident with hateful comments made during a company zoom call, and the response was very delayed and failed to really address the problem. Just some corporate nonsense about "we value everyone." I've worked for a few carriers in my tenure in the industry, Allstate was by far the worst- they over promise and under deliver in every aspect, all of my former employers (going back to High School. I left and have had positive or neutral things to say- not Allstate, there were no redeeming qualities, just avoid them all together.

Pros

Generous PTO 25+ days, I have a great direct manager that truly cares, benefits are okay they don't cover infertility, internet help on your paycheck, CAT pay is good (but it can be a pain getting it sometimes)

Cons

No work life balance. Cat adjusters work 7am-7pm, 10 days straight with 4 days off. The schedule can get old real quick. The job in general is exhausting to say the least. Most days I dread getting out of bed because I know I will receive messy claims meaning a supplement from 3 years ago and just now the insured/contractor wants more. This job is like cat and mouse when it comes to getting your claims completed. Before we can get approval you need to do this first. So the claims drag on forever. Literally the processing team will assign you another adjusters claim and they are currently in office. LIKE WHAT. So now I need to read the claim from start to finish and figure it all out. When the processing team can easily assign the claim to the original adjuster that knows the case. BUT NO. You do other adjusters work here and it is frustrating because literally everyone does the job differently. Have you ever had a job where you cannot get out of bed due to extreme anxiety? Well this position will have you going crazy literally. The workload is unbearable 4 to 5 new claims (mostly supplements) PLUS you still have to work your own supplements from prior claims. So somedays I have upward to 10 claims. And my own supplements aren't factored into my workload for the day. This position is stressful and def not sustainable long term. And when it comes to the packages. Mostly they are incomplete with missing information and that is another frustration. And lastly, training is limited so the expectation is that you learn outside of work how you do your job better. After 12 hours the last thing you want to do is watch videos for learning hours. Before accepting the position, please read all the feedback and really know what you are getting yourself into. This position is beyond demanding.
