Pros

Alot of vacation time and if you're a minority, they'll favor you over those with less desirable demographics.

Cons

The benefits other than the vacation time are expensive for new employees. The longer you work there, Allstate gives employees with more seniority better and better credits to offset the costs. The cooperation between areas is abysmal. The executives are in their own world. They value tenure and minorites above ideas. Within IT, they just implemented a policy where most people are not assigned to teams anymore so essentially they're working project to project and are therefore at risk. With this "consulting model" which Allstate says is new, why not get paid more and work for a real consulting company instead?

Pros

Allstate has great benefits, a regular work week, is well managed, has great internal support, and is focused on customer service from top to bottom. I work in a very comfortable office environment with the best technology and maintenance. We have the highest quality control standard and enjoy immediate attention to problem resolution. Very efficient performance monitored weekly, reviewed monthly.

Cons

Low pay for highest educated workforce in small labor market. Allstate keeps pace with competitive employment, but Lincoln is a small market overpopulated with customer service work.

Pros

Great PTO, 401 matching of 5% plus a pension. Decent pay.

Cons

They need floaters to cover all that time off they give employees, because they staff very close to the minimum. Things turn to crap quick if someone is sick and another on vacation. Also, if you have under 25 years, good luck getting off near major holidays. Software is poor, but soon to change.
