      Pros

      Allstate is a great place to work if you value having a life. Allstate is very progressive (good for them) about promoting employees for other reasons than that they are good performers. Allstate regularly gets recognized for its ability to foster an environment for working mothers, working in the community, and for great career opportunities minorities. The company is piloting a massive work from home program. Allstate is learning to use virtual ropes to keep the herd moving in the right direction which will be a required management skill by 2012 with gas prices headed towards 10 dollars a gallon.

      Cons

      I've seen top notch performers passed over time and time again, while incompetent people are promoted because of progressive type goals, or they couldn't handle their last promotion. Overall, Allstate is a good company with great people working for them & working there is better and less stressful than most places.

      Pros

      Working with good people in a great company. I am alway being encouraged to do more and go further with my career and life.

      Cons

      I have had some negative experience with prior bosses that almost made me want to leave the insurance feild. Such as many broken promises in respects to pay, time off and promotions.
