Pros

Great PTO and work/life balance

Cons

It’s all about your cronies. In order to move up or be recognized you have to be in the right crowd. Inclusion is talked about a lot but the company has a lot of work to do here. The recent merger with Esurance was handled horrifically — making all of us feel under appreciated to say the very least. The company moves at a snails pace and you really can’t get anything done because every single thing has to go through so many reviews and approvals. Management talks about transparency .. Sr. leadership tries at this .. but middle management hoards information. It almost seems like there is a worry that they don’t want to be seen as better than or equal too and the best way to do that is keep certain things under wraps. If you like working at a faster pace, where you see the fruits of your labor this is not the place for you. If you like SLOW ridiculously over engineered environments where everyone and everything needs to be reviewed and where you get flooded with company emails but have great vacation time this is a perfect place for you.

Pros

Some roles are allowed to work at home.

Cons

Allstate laid off thousands of employees in a very ugly way in the middle of a global pandemic. I can't even begin to delve into the scope in which this company has literally crushed families, all in hopes that their Transformative Growth Plan (and the acquisiton that went along with it) would get them where they need to be to stay relevant. It won't. The employees remaining (some hired back after being laid off... but at LOWER pay bands!) are experiencing extremely strained workloads, huge paycuts, and the constant threat of new layoffs... even though they are hiring like crazy? Doesn't make sense. I'll never forget that during a Town Hall, called for upper management to 'transparently' discuss the transformative growth plan (aka layoffs) with the rest of us minions on the chopping block, they played the song "CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES" in the waiting room leading up to the meeting. Talk about being out of touch! This company is unstable and toxic, stay away if you value yourself as a human being. One last thing... the benefits are a joke - a terrible, expensive joke.

Pros

PTO and Work from home

Cons

No standard process, everything with this company is all over the place, high workload even on off days, micromanaging I truly believe Allstate does not care about their employees. Morale has been at an all time low and they have done nothing to change that. Worst job i’ve ever had
