Pros

Annual allowance for employees to use to stay fit and active. They do relevant work in the field and are very mission-driven to create better active transportation opportunities.

Cons

They let the HR person go and didn't replace them for a while, so we just didn't have anywhere to go for HR needs. Regardless of which office you work for you will be pushed really hard to be a self starter and manage projects even if you are entry level, with or without guidance/support/management. The Seattle office can be a tough place to fit in, it wasn't for me as I don't do well with high levels of stress. You may love it if you are very focused on active transportation and a good support network.

Pros

Flexible work schedule Good vacation policy, decent benefits Lots of autonomy if you're trusted Can chase projects you find interesting but on your own time You'll get exposed to some really smart people (who will likely leave within 1 year of meeting them)

Cons

Extremely high turn over, most people don't last 3 years Limited opportunities to advance Serious harassment issues in the smaller offices that don't have upper level management oversight Way below market salaries Junior level staff are extremely inexperienced and not given the opportunity to shadow or be mentored by senior staff in a meaningful way because budgets are too tight Utilization rates are too high for the menial salaries Communication is a mess, would often get 100 emails in a single day from internal staff No outside educational opportunities like conferences and workshops unless you're presenting No transparency about company financials/health Disorganized from data management to communication protocol and production standards Project managers can't manage clients properly so projects often go over budget and out of scope
