Pros

Competitive salary and vacation time.

Cons

Amtrust furloughed or laid off an unknown amount of employees in June, 2020 after the Covid lockdowns were put in place. No explanation was given but it appears Covid was used as a means to shed dead weight. This is understandable from an economic standpoint, however business did not slow down and workloads increased substantially to cover the increased claims and lack of staff. Typical caseloads of 120-130 were increased to 150-160+ in the matter of a month or two. "Special" projects including auditing hundreds of additional claim files were distributed to adjusters in the hopes of preventing another PAR audit failure. No acknowledgement or merit raises were given despite the increased business and workloads. In addition, upper management decided to revamp the already outdated claims system in the middle of this with minimal training/support. In summary, upper management expects employees to be complacent and "just get it done" at all costs with complete disregard to their well-being.

Pros

The people I've worked with have been generally good. The technical landscape is advancing (slowly) and some newer projects have been interesting to work on. Company bottom line is apparently good, though this won't make an impact on employees in any way.

Cons

Communication from execs is terrible. Communication from HR is terrible. The pay is terrible. The merit adjustments have been terrible. This year I got 1.5%. Last year I got nothing No career advancement opportunities. Little adoption of industry standard technology company wide. Some teams work with newer frameworks, but some large applications are on .Net Framework 4.0 with no serious plans to modernize.

Pros

PTO Jewish paid holidays (19) Extremely talented developers Great teams in IT

Cons

Executive levels are not interested in how they treat their employees. There is no Diversity & Inclusion at all, even though the company posts about it often on their websites. The rich executives bragged about how much money the company made, and then gave out 1% raises to encompass two years time. We all have to answer to someone, someday for how we treated our fellow human beings. Are you prepared?
