Pros

It's a job...nothing more. If you just keep your head low, agree with everything (don't worry you just need to agree, not deliver on anything) and be a drone you can last here forever...or at least until the company ceases to exist.

Cons

Disengaged management with lack of direction or contemporary knowledge along with below median pay are just a scratch in the surface of how bad this place is to work. When a problem or flaw is found and reported (and there are many in a range of sizes and in every aspect of this company), senior management will hide it from their own peers until it gets so out of control they can no longer contain or deny it and then they will say it was unavoidable...even when it was obvious for years before that it was in the process of happening. I feel bad for their customers, who only have a vague idea how much wool is being pulled over their eyes with the smoke and mirror routine. It's more important for some "people" to not look bad than it is for them to do a good job running their department and no one in their peer group either is willing or is smart enough to call them on it.

Pros

Pays the bills....barely...and you can tell by their "talent" that they get what they pay for or if they happen to get someone good they either chase that person away real quick or degrade their quality over time. Benefits are not what they once were (they reduced the 401k to 1.5% match and raised healthcare costs) but the health plan is decent, and they do have a pension if you 5 year vest (God help you if you actually get stuck there 5 years).

Cons

The culture, apathy runs rampant from the top to the bottom. Empowerment...no such thing exists. Recognition, being a robot is the only way to survive here, trying to excel will just make people feel threatened (especially your manager who has been here in middle management forever 10-30 years because they could never get hired somewhere else that would actually require knowledge and talent)) and they will react accordingly and the frustration you will feel trying to make a difference will just demotivate you faster than the company culture will. The pay, not even close to par with like companies. So much is a con (in multiple meanings of the word) that all I can say is, stay away unless you are real damaged goods that you can't find anything else in a better company or are truly desperate for a job.

Pros

- Good benefits (health, dental, 401K, tuition reimbursement, etc.) - Good work/life balance. - Employees are friendly, for the most part.

Cons

- Location (the company moved from Manhattan to White Plains in 2008). - Low pay. At least the benefits make up for it.
