Pros

There really aren't any at all

Cons

The experience I had working here was completely awful! 'Training' is a joke and the 'Trainer' is rude, snappy and spends more time criticizing and gossiping about the trainees to EMPLOYEES (not just management) and less time actually training. We were supposed to get TWO WEEKS of training, we barely got a week and the "trainer' wouldn't tell you what you were doing wrong, she would just say "let me do it" and take over.. how are we supposed to know what we're doing wrong if you don't show us? I got such TERRIBLE TRAINING that it ended up costing me my job because I hadn't been trained correctly so I wasn't doing lashes correctly. When I lost my job I had no idea it was coming, I thought everything was okay...But apparently they had been gathering 'evidence' against me for a MONTH.. never spoke to me about their concerns, never even gave me a chance to fix things. When about to fire me I told her I've been wanting to sit in with more experienced stylists so I could try to see what they do but there hasn't been any time and she replied with 'It's a little too late to be proactive'. I couldn't believe she said that! I still don't know exactly why I was fired to be completely honest.. They also don't let you have ANY BREAKS except your (if you're lucky) 30 minutes for lunch, which isn't always guaranteed. Most days you won't get a full lunch. No time for restroom breaks either. They book BACK TO BACK. Also, we signed a contract saying that if we quit within a year of working there we owed them $1200 for training, fair enough.. but at this particular location she hasn't paid for any training so far so all these people that's she's been holding their last checks from to 'reimburse' training she's just pretty much been stealing their money. They've lost multiple tips of mine as well... I could go on and on about this 'business' and why you shouldn't work there but we'd be here all day. My advice to anyone looking to working here is: DON'T. Go somewhere else to do lashes.

Pros

Training in the back of the studio (Lashing)

Cons

manager has to go she makes racist comments about African American clients, she’s rude and very unprofessional. the owner is no better I’ve been harassed by The manager since I started in December and I was just fired because I always speak up about her behavior. As an employer if one of your employees comes to you with an issue they should take care of it right away. I’ve been telling the owner everything she does and the first time we sit down to finally talk was the same day I was “terminated” when I mentioned The manager makes racial comments The owner began to yell and basically called me a liar. As an employer that is not how you’re supposed to handle things. A little after I told The owner this he told me it wasn’t “working for me today will be my last day” I wasn’t sure I heard him clear so I said excuse me and he went on to say I am terminated when I asked him why he told me “my lash timing was too long” which I just started lashing June 3rd (not even 90 days) and some of the girls still take 2 hours to lash and because I came in “late” that day, in the handbook it reads “if you expect to be tardy on a work day, you must notify your manager as soon as possible that you will be late you must personally contact your manager either at ALS by text message or on their cell phone if you cannot reach out to your manager please leave a detailed text message with a phone number where you can be reached. Instead I called and The manager said “that is unacceptable you will not be late you will get here at 9am”and hung up the phone on me. I overslept I’m human but her reaction was not professional at all, so I called back and asked if she hung up on me and screaming in my ear she says “yes to call your client you need to get here and hung up again” this was not the first time she spoke to me in this manner but i had enough and thinking I would be be able to speak to one of the owners about it was foolish of me. i sent him a text message of what happened and he said he would be in later to have a “review” with me but I was confused I just let him know The Managers behavior and yet again he didn’t make me feel comfortable at all yes it was in a text message but you could tell he didn’t care just like all the other times I texted him and he would not respond to me. I say all this to say I am very disappointed in the owners. When you first get hired they make it a point to say “no drama” when they are the ones stirring the pot there is a chain of employees that quit because of the manager and the lack of professional management. My message will probably be lost in all the reviews they force clients to write about them and their establishment, but at the end of the day Karma comes back around and being a nasty person will not get you far in life I hope one day the owners will change their ways and actually care about their employees allowing someone to work for you who makes racial comments about African Americans says A LOT about the owners and letting me go was a blessing thank you
