Good Launching Pad for Career in Tech but Limited Growth within Amazon

Cons
- Many AWS legal departments have created a toxic environment. - Do not show any level of interest in retaining non-attorney talent. - Are not interested in developing their talent. For example, they do refuse to establish a clear career path for contracts managers or compliance specialists to become attorneys (even if they meet all other legal qualifications such as obtaining a JD and Bar Admission). - Attorneys make above market at Amazon... Compliance Specialists and Contracts Managers make well below market. After leaving Amazon, I received offers that were 30 to 50% above in total comp. All my other offers had a higher base salary and equity offer. - Contracts Managers in Amazon Legal make about 30% less than Contracts Specialists in other non-legal departments at Amazon.
