Pros

The ability to wear whatever you want. There's no supervisor lurking over your shoulder. You are able to get tips on top of your hourly wage. Sometimes orders will come in at a slow pace, so they are paying you to sit at the warehouse and do nothing. The pay is good.

Cons

Please prepare yourself: The delivery app: I recommend that you have two phone batteries or a car charger because the app will drain your battery. You don't want a dead phone while you are out on a route. This has happened to me and they will think that you hadn't made any deliveries. They will send you on side jobs after you made your delivery where you would have to go to a place and pick up some food from a restaurant. The Warehouse: Sometimes the workers are not as fast as they should be while packaging your order. I remembered that I waited for forty-five minutes for multiple packages and I had to deliver to five different people in an hour block, which could be attainable if each of the clients weren't more than twenty minutes away from one another, which means if you don't get there within a certain block then it will fall on you. Luckily, the job went to someone else. The hours: I started my journey in October of 2015 ( including filling out the appropriate documents and attending the seminar). The app allows you to pick the times that you are free to work and ask how many hours you would like to work during the week. Don't waste your time. You will not get 40 hours a week or more. My schedule was open and I didn't get to deliver a single package until December 23, 2015. Meanwhile they are all over Craiglist posting three or four times a day about driving for them, you will be lucky if you get a day per week. I can count on both hands the number of times that I have delivered for them and I was working with them for 9 months.

Pros

-Easy work (no brain work) -Easy to get hired (no interview, just a background check) -Good money (paid weekly!) -Independent Contractor (no taxes taken out of pay) -Work your own hours (great work/life balance) -Tips (although optional, tips can be nice) -No dress code (you can literally wear your pajamas to work) -Laid back (other than management yelling at everyone, the environment is pretty chill)

Cons

-Not steady income.. (scheduled delivery blocks (scheduled time to work) is not guaranteed on daily/hourly basis) -Most delivery blocks are scheduled on a first come first serve basis (thus it can be cut throat, as you are fighting with other drivers for a scheduled delivery block through the Amazon Flex app). -Part-time hours (most delivery blocks offered are 2 or 4 hours in length at a time) -Tips are optional and can be taken away based on a customer's dissatisfaction with their order and not necessarily with your delivery service) -Drivers are sometimes blamed by customer for incorrect or missing items (drivers don't package the orders, the fulfillment center employees do) -Independent Contractor (no benefits and you must pay taxes at the end of the year) -Very hard on your vehicle (a lot of street miles put on car). A lot of gas (there is a lot of commuting and stop and go, so don't apply if you have a gas guzzler). -Management (Where do I begin... A few are nice and laid back, others are on a supreme power trip! Also, you see a slight bit of favoritism shown but then again, you see that with many other companies). - Amazon Flex app (one of my biggest headaches) the app malfunctions A LOT!!! (The map will give you incorrect directions, having you in no mans land, it doesn't always allow you to mark yourself as "I have arrived" so that you can drop off your package(s), thus taking up time and ultimately making you late throughout your route, which by the way hurts your ratings with Amazon Flex. Also, the scanner function will glitch as if you did not scan your package, thus you will need to disturb the customer again to rescan an already delivered package) -Customer Support (can you say NO help?!) I believe they only help to inform the customer of a late delivery, other than that, they are really unhelpful. They will leave you hanging even when the customer is standing right in front of you with an incorrect/missing order. Not to mention, there seems to be an extreme lack of communication between the fulfillment center and customer support, as neither one seems to know what the other is doing.

Pros

Paid well for a part-time gig - average about $27/hr gross. Usually complete a 3 hr shift in 2 hours or less Never gone over my shift Paid twice a week so it's almost like having a job that tips ( Cash all the time) Work when you want I see available shifts all day up until about 2 pm then it gets much more difficult to get a block. I always get a shift when I put effort into it. There are days when they offer up to $72 for a 3 hour shift. I've even seen $98 for a 3 hr shift Pay is guaranteed even if you fail to deliver every package

Cons

Difficult to get shifts. You have to be on the look out but not too difficult Using your own car Expenses usually account for at least 20 percent of your pay You must return packages if failed to deliver asap which may mean back tracking out of your way which adds miles and take away from pay. Rare for me since i am only doing this part time The gps app is terrible
