Pros

Great environment, people, lessons and challenges you'll face along the way and your team will help you climb the ladder and support you. You will feel valued the more you deliver results. Things are haphazard but its up to you to figure out which is great leway. which leaves you with a choice for ownership. whoever rises to the occasion of course will benefit later on

Cons

Work life balance is hard to maintain and sometimes non existence at first 6 to 9 months. If you fall under bad management it up to you to properly voice your concerns or you basically fall in a pit hole of your own doing. You must always be vigilant and have an extra card up your sleeve our you'll be eaten alive by your peers. Your value is based on your delivery or attempted delivery for results. if you don't have any you'll eventually be undervalued and left out. This tough turmoil environment is not for everyone but the value you gain over time will show after 9 months and would make it worth while in my opinion

Pros

-Really impactful work, huge cost and time impact working on systems that get products from distributors to customers -Access to the full Amazon system: amazing resources for learning technical and soft skills. Cutting edge skills with machine learning and the cloud are core Amazon offerings, and you get outstanding exposure to these. Soft skills are high priorities, and heavily accompanied with high quality talks and trainings about why x and y are important and how to apply them. Huge fan of the Amazon Leadership Principles. -Very friendly environment, very flexible workplace. Give and take reality where people come and go as they please and frequently work from home. -Clear systems and transparency let you get involved in a lot of processes and understand why something was done the way it was done. -Work closely with a physical system and lots of people (in operations using your systems across the country). Robots are being tested/worked on in the same building where you work

Cons

-Flip side of give and take, you might get woken up to a 4am emergency a few times a year (depends on your team, could be more or less). -No free lunch, frugality is a soft skill/leadership principal

- My full-time coworkers provided ample guidance as I learned the ropes of Amazon's internal tools and projects. - Plenty of amenities (ping-pong, coffee, etc.) - Variety of engaging projects - Fun intern events

Cons

- Some interns got stuck in not so exciting projects - Communication could sometimes have been improved - Drive to work was sometimes very long due to traffic
