Pros

- Amazing scale if you care about that - Decent comp (not amazing) - The core of the business isn't as societally problematic as some other big tech - Pretty good resume value - Customer obsession is a good thing and not just a buzzword

Cons

- Monopolistic - Culture and leadership issues - Bureaucracy - Will do things like ask you to assume the responsibilities of the next level up, verbally saying this will get you an actual level increase in ~6 months, then not follow through

Pros

Security is well funded and majority of service owners take it seriously. Burn out is pretty well managed with quite flexible working arrangements

Cons

Advancement can stall once getting towards L6 level. Often easier to leave Amazon and later rejoin at a higher level.
