AWS keeps their promises (three months in)
Pros
Everything I was told during the recruitment process came true in my first three months: lots of learning, training courses and exposure to new things. Great to have time to improve myself and not just rely on what I already knew. Very supportive manager, nice welcome into the team, despite the team being geographically dispersed. Refreshingly, customer meetings are planned starting with the customer and understanding their needs, and working backwards, rather than with a sales-led approach that many companies selling products and services use.
Cons
For a new joiner, it takes a bit of time to get accustomed to the particular and peculiar AWS company culture, and there are lots of videos to watch - but, once you see the values being lived and in action for real, in meetings and in how colleagues operate daily, it becomes easier and quite empowering.
