Pros

Management supportive of clinicians and support our decision making skills. Do not "push you around" and do not make you do anything you are not comfortable doing. Concerned with our safety out in the field. I have always felt comfortable talking to management about any concerns.

Cons

The paperwork is horrendous but this is largely due to medicare requirements. I sometimes wonder if the documentation program could be made more efficient. Lots of check boxes and text boxes to fill out.

Pros

Flexible scheduling Alot of learning opportunities When your care center succeeds, you are awarded incentives. Mgmt helps with field visits/and on-call, when this is not a common practice in other offices.

Cons

Staff are not committed to their daily duties, expectations- If you give an inch, they want a mile, . Mgmt not appreciated for what they do for staff over and beyond. No loyalty of staff-they want a paycheck but dont want to accept resp. for whats expected of them Employees want change but wont comment to promote new ideas. Changes occur often and sometimes w/o notification. Long hours and very little appreciation or feedback

Pros

Amedisys does have great training for the sales people and clinical staff. The training was one of the positive aspects that I did brag about. The clinical staff is great! They are well trained and professional. They do have wonderful programs to help seniors.

Cons

I was fired because I did not bring in enough Medicare referrals to my care center although I had made my quotas for 3 of the last 4 quarters. My referrals were directly from physicians. My CTC (nurse liaison) only brought in 14% of the territories referrals, 82% were from me. I had 6 hospitals, 5 have their own home health agencies, all 6 are closed facilities and you cannot get up to the floor without an appointment and the case management offices do not answer their phones. The 30 day plan was to "help" me increase my referrals. I was to work with the coach/trainer. He had to cancel and it was never rescheduled although I asked for help and for it to be rescheduled several times. My AVP was to work with me and never did. He made 2 attempts to help me get into one of my closed hospitals and could not get the appointment. I continuously asked for help from him. I accomplished everything on the 30 plan except I was just of making my Medicare referral goal. My AVP told me that he thought I would be "SAFE" but apparently he was wrong. The AVP had NO power. He was a puppet to the VP. I applied to two positions that I was very qualified for and I was turned down. I am too strong of a person to move up at Amedisys. Careers, not jobs??? This is an "Operations Driven" company with little regard as to the sales point of view. The turnover is well over 200% in my area in sales, staff in the care center as well as middle management. Everyone is just waiting to be fired in the field and in the care centers. Many of the previous employees have expressed the reasons for their departures but it falls on deaf ears. All Amedisys cares about is Medicare referrals and re-certifications.
