      Pros

      A paycheck. Decent benefits, not stellar. Executive leadership has a wonderful persona and ideals. Core values (on paper) are noble.

      Cons

      Careers at the expense of family and personal life. Lack of back-up support. Bare bones staffing that does not plan for adequate coverage of key functions. True adherence to core values are not practiced across the board.

      Amedisys needs to stop changing procedure every week

      Pros

      Excellent pay, good benefits package including PTO, many positions available all over the US, flexible hours and schedule, reasonable patient caseload

      Cons

      The main issue I have with Amedisys is the frequency of policy and procedure changes. I understand why they try to implement new programs like clinical tracks and balance for life, but it seems like every week there is something additional for the clinician to do. Their move to electronic consent forms has added extra work since our office now insists that we have paper and electronic consent forms signed. Whenever Amedisys adds a new piece to the documentation required of the clinicians, it takes time away from direct patient care.

      Pros

      Flexible hours. Can balance work/family. Case loads are sometimes "well compensated" it all depends on yr manager. Mileage paid for.

      Cons

      Home visits are often not well compensated. Lots of paper work to complete, not enough time for chating adequately. Management don't seem to care much.
