Pros

Great local co-workers, good job security

Cons

Upper & local management are all about numbers. They care little about office concerns like competitive pricing and the fact we've had warm winters the past few years. Upper management jacks up the price to a $1.00+ over the 10+ other local companies and expects us to meets our goals that rise every year. Not to mention, most local managers are bigger gossips than an old lady bridge club. Nothing stays within your district only. Most managers are responsible for at least two districts so you can guarantee what happens in yours will be heard about in at least 2 more. Hard work is rewarded with more responsibilities with a puny 3-4% raise a year. When you make $14 an hour, that's insulting. The bonus program is based on sales and currently, unless you live out west or in the northeast, don't count on it. Most offices are understaffed, so even if you do get the new accounts, there isn't personnel available to set the tanks. They are too busy doing PFI inspections to clear reports so local management and the QAS look good to corporate. The Net promoter score is factored into your bonus, which isn't too bad except almost ALL the bad scores count against your bonus and ALL of those are about pricing, which is beyond your control but if you fail to make the NPS goal you dont get the bonus. Corporate cares very little for local employees and views them as expendable, no matter how much they talk about how much they appreciate you. As much as I loved my co-workers, I had to get out. It is stressful and if it's not one thing it's another. Last thing, if you have a kid/kids, don't even expect your manager to understand if they are sick even if you have vacation time available. Two different managers in over 5 years and both had the same attitude; it wasn't their problem and you should drop them at a daycare so you can answer then phone. Awful enviroment.

Pros

Very nice people work here

Cons

They hemmorage money on frivulous things that aren't needed while laying people off at corporate and district level, use a grade level system to intentionally keep wages low, make empty promises, very hard to move into a different department or grow within, very much a boys club, don't pay their bills, buy smaller companies to make up for the major loss of customers
