Pros

They pay for a CE event every year

Cons

Very busy. You are expected to see a patient every 10 minutes. It’s not uncommon to average 28+ patients per day - depending on how many show up. Staff is often new and undertrained considering how high turnover is. Dismiss any disillusionment about the company caring for underserved patient population - corporate runs the company as a business to maximize profit.

Pros

The company has amazing benefits and gives you lots of PTO up front, more so than I've ever seen at a company before. There Is a little bit of a sales commission as well and especially as a licensed optician, it's a fairly easy place to work. The prices are fair, you get a solid discount on your optical needs, and it's overall a great place to start for anyone looking for a job in optical.

Cons

The company has this very apparent ceiling that you tend to hit rather quickly. Even if you do go up to management, the pay incentive is miniscule unless you become the GM. The pay for any position in general is substantially lower than any other optical you can find specifically when reffering to licensed opticians. There isn't alot of need to grow beyond a sales associate because your incentive caps out really fast. Furthermore, the longer you work there, the more you're expected to do and this reaches a point of being in a manager position without receiving manager pay. Of course all of these things depend on your district and store managers but even still, the turnover rate is rather high because of the amount of work expected of people with little training and the unrefined systems of operation

Pros

Super easy metrics to meet

Cons

Low pay for all associates, long hours-mandatory OT with no compensation for general managers because we're salary (HAD to work 50 hours at 40 hour salary), training was non-existant, culture was outdated (dress code, policy on color hair/tattoos), did not have the freedom to think outside the box to make changes for your store, super ong dull days feeling useless in a career.
