Pros
If you are good at what you do you are pretty much guaranteed to keep your current job If you aren't good at what you do, management will pawn you off on another department If you have an MBA - you got it made Get to travel to places you may not get to - because of the work you do
Cons
Usually the ones who don't deserve it, get promoted Performance reviews are not consistent - when and if they are given No career path opportunities There's a lot of "talk" about diversity - but when it comes to it....middle management does not act on it Those in the "click" get promoted If co-workers aren't good at their job, managment will pawn them off on someone else
