Pros

Excellent group of co-workers who seem to care about the company. Everyone in my division (MCLA) I met was extremely friendly and helpful. This is a great group of people that truly seem to care. Decent travel benefits (assuming you're flexible). This is especially true for international travel. Domestically it's easier to buy a ticket.

Cons

Complete lack of direction from management. There is no vision for what this company could become and no plan to get it there. Lots of middle managers not doing anything to move the company forward. There were managers in my area that had 1 to 2 employees reporting to them. It seemed anything over 5 employees was reason to hire another manager. Pay isn't comparable to other companies.

Pros

Fly for free. And with the current economy it's easier than ever...more empty seats! Good management. The management is really making a very good effort in trying times and slashed budgets. Very diverse culture. It's a great place to see the world, all under one roof.

Cons

Salaries and new system development are stagnant due to current economic conditions. Much of what is currently done is cost cutting and exploring innovative ways of doing more with less. Cost-cutting has also led to inevitable lay-offs, hiring freezes, and early retirement.

Pros

They are few and far between these days, but getting on a flight if its not completely oversold or canceled I guess is a good reason.

Cons

Sen. Manangement has very little foresight as far as which employees are valuable to AA as a company, and they abuse these employees until they are forced to look for work elsewhere. They hope that everyone is just so grateful to have a job that they can treat their employees like dirt and they will just stick with it.
