Pros

You get weekly bonuses IF you make sales.

Cons

Have to go to people's houses in sketchy areas. Sales leads have been over-used to the point that people will agree to meet with you to get you to stop calling and then ghost you. Not at all what they said it would be when getting hired. There is little help from people above you. You barely get sales. The premiums are too high for people to afford. I.E. I had to pitch a whole life policy to a woman (55 year old, non-smoker) with a $1500 a month income for $300 a month. If you make any mistakes, they just take away your ability to make certain sales. There is little to no training, forced to be in the office to make client calls (even though you are not paid hourly), can go weeks without even seeing a paycheck, and work 90 hour weeks. This is a scam of a company. Especially at the West Agency in Indianapolis.

Pros

They will get you licensed to sell life insurance.

Cons

You make nothing during the training process. Initial "leads" have been poured through and called over and over again. One lady I spoke with had been contacted by ten different agents the previous year and was receiving an average of 2-3 calls per week from AIL. There was 22 people hired, 3 of us made it. None of us lasted more than 6 months. Countless other batches of people would come in, get hired, fail the exam and be gone. Or failed to memorize the script word for word and would be let go. Or in my case have a person so irate that we are calling them for the 5th time that week (it was the first time I had called) they threatened to sue us, asked to speak with a manager and after they hung up I was called in the office and terminated. It was the worst experience in sales I've ever had, it left such a bad taste in my mouth that here I am, 15 years later, looking up reviews on Glass door and seeing tons of people who are still going through the same bologna for the enrichment of "management". All of these positive reviews are forced, management is no doubt soliciting employees for positive reviews. Again, no pay during training, you pay for all your expenses, forced to memorize a script, given terrible leads, forced to lie your way into peoples houses (child "safety" kits), they tell you you can make your own hours but then pressure you to work all day every day, your "area" is based off of the places the other "more experienced" sales people don't want to do so be prepared to recieve the low income areas right off the bat. Its a trap, trust me.
