Pros

You learn the art of verbiage and persuasion. If you sell your sole, you can "potentially" make lots of money. As long as you don't get caught, and you bring in the numbers, it doesn't matter what you do.

Cons

The verbiage/persuasion skill is learned by it being used against you from the beginning. People sitting at home office can run your customers away by harrasing them with numerous phone calls trying to upsell. (A customer had over 25 calls between Dec 21 and Dec 23 just to add $5 extra in accidental coverage) Other agents can steal your customers from you years later, so your 5% loyalities dissappear faster than normal deaths and cancelations. You're preached to about following the script verbatim, but none of the "top" salesman even use the script and are praised for high numbers, even rewarded for it. The "handwritten cards" are never fully explained to the union members, they are just told to fill it out. Once the card is filled out, it just keeps getting passed around after that. I called people that hadn't even worked in the union for over a decade. Last but most annoying, the flex time is a complete lie. Your pressured into working 60hrs a week with the "free" leads. Mon-fri, 8am-9pm and Sat 8am - 5pm will be your schedule!
