Pros
An exciting opportunity to make a lot of money if you can find the right customers. Flashy office in Dallas with the Wolf of Wall Street type atmosphere. Office in Fort Worth with a sense of community.
Cons
*The leads are a lot colder than they let on. They say "union members" requesting life insurance and that it's an "exclusive" program. But, these are just recruiting and sales tactics. About 90% of the people you get on the phone are not expecting you to call and have the attitude of, " do not try to sell me anything." Looking up leads on Spokeo made me really wonder where all the leads were coming from anyway. *Training has a lot of gaps in it. I found that a lot of agents don't even realize they're marketing a graded whole life policy to senior citizens as a regular WL policy. They mislead these customers to believe it's a $30k final expense certificate when its not worth anywhere near that amount for years to come. In my short time here I struggled through two in-home presentations as the customer tried to remember if my agency was the one that lied to them the last time they considered purchasing insurance. We were. *10 out of 10 customers that I met with had already been seen or did not qualify. Mostly due to their financial situation. It seemed they were just accepting the appointment to take advantage of the "no cost" benefits we give them for letting us come pitch our products. *You're schedule will be at least 9 am- 9 pm every day except Sunday; sometimes earlier on the weekends. You DON'T run your own schedule, it runs you.
