Pros
The best reason to work at AIL is to learn what not to do to agents and clients. You will learn how to prospect from recycled leads and try to take advantage of blue collar workers under the false premise of being "Union". You will learn how to become a manager and not a producer (you do not have a choice). You will spend a LOT of time on the road and a LOT of money on gas. And you may actually make a small commission that will dwindle down to next to nothing after their shell-game deductions are taken. These are the positives.
Cons
Unprofessional training from managers that have no right teaching. A lack of patience and rush through what is probably the most important part of a developing agent's career do not help. The new agents are exploited and pushed all the while made to believe there will be a great reward. There will not be. Expect poor communication, avoidance of responsibility, long hours, harassing poor union members who seem to be bombarded by calls constantly, knocking on poor peoples doors with the promise of "No-Cost Benefits" and then trying to push products on them that they cannot afford. If you are smart, PLEASE heed my warning and STEER CLEAR!!! Try New York Life, Mutual of Omaha, Mass Mutual or any other reputable firm. Dig deep and make sure it is where you will want to work for your entire career. You will not have a career at AIL, but you will learn some hard lessons.
