Pros

1- The money! I've been with the company for 10.5 years and I hear on a weekly basis from people I interview that they can't afford 100% commission. I just want to shake my head (and sometimes do) because I could not afford to not be 100% commission! Yes-The word may seem scary...but should only be scary to the people who are not driven. I have often said to people that think the first few month are hard, or as a manager they work a lot of hours- I don't know of too many 6 figured salary jobs that don't have stress and late nights. It comes with the territory when you are making big money. But, after the time I have put in- I work maybe 20 hours a week, I'm 40 years old, I get a $4000 check every month in renewals and make well over 100,0000 annually.

Cons

-This is not for everyone. You have to be self motivated and not afraid of hard work and long hours. In the beginning-you have to give 150% to get your "mojo" going! You have a lot to learn and because it's 100% commission we want you to learn it as fast as possible so you make the money you want and need.

Pros

I worked for American Income for 5 years between two states. The amount of professional growth I earned in that time is colossal. I learned and developed sales skills, management and training skills and hiring and interviewing skills. For me the positives are: Freedom: I am not a 9-5 person. I like having the flexibility to do my work when I can and when the work is done I am done. I love not being in the office all the time. Income: I made more in income here than I could have as a salary position anywhere with my experience at the time I took this job. Support: any help I needed to achieve my goals I received from management and I also was invited to a week long management training at the corporate office when I was in management where I learned a ton. I also just loved the people I woked with and made lifelong friends

Cons

Can't say a bad word

Pros

I wasn't a very hard worker in my previous work experiences. I thought I was. I was not. This job taught me how to really work hard and expect the best from myself and others. First reason is the money. This company pays well for talent. They offer amazing incentives for performance and that really drove me. Secondly the training. They don't just roll you out there after reading a company handbook and say good luck. They'll make sure you're ready to go before you're ever out on your own and continually train and help you if you need it as well. Thirdly was the leads. I worked for two other insurance companies and when you don't have leads to call and see your days can be pretty long, frustrating and fruitless. When the leads are supplied then your success or failure is all on you. When you're provided with the tools and the training then you're in charge of your own success. I made enough money to go start my own business which had been my ultimate goal. If not for American income life and ultimately Mr Jubrey that wouldn't have been possible.

Cons

You'll work. I know that's a con for a lot of people. This job can be great, but it's not easy. You'll work hard and sometimes long hours but show me a person making six figures that works 9-5. They're pretty rare.
