Pros

If you take full advantage of the training you will be successful anywhere you go.

Cons

This job is not designed to help you make money. You will go through a lot of emotional, mental, and physical anguish. Your success is not based on any merit. You have to do your research on this company before deciding anything. Don’t expect to make any money. The worlds greatest bonus is not a bonus. You might think you are starting off at 50- 65% Commission, but when you do the math you’ll find out it’s closer to 35%. The leads that they provide you are absolutely beaten down to the point where it is impossible to retain business. You will have absolutely no work life balance. And it is not because the job is so amazing, but because you will be punished if you do not work 24/7 for little to no pay. You will start seeing the quality of your leads (that’s they control) begin to dwindle to the point where you’re forced to work 24/7. Think twice before working with a company where their own employees are suing them.

Pros

my agency at least did a pretty good job with training. I have had multiple people who helped out when needed.

Cons

the turnaround is huge. 10s of people coming and going every month just in one agency. My biggest issue has to do with company culture, leads and work-life balance. 1) kind of a douch-e culture coming down from the CEO. Flexing with Rolex watches, sport cars for few top performers, when in reality most agents make less than 50k per year. 2) you only get about 100 leads every 5 weeks or so and most of them are bad numbers, overage, or canceled policies. You are expected to call them multiple times a day every day for months. 90% of work is calling the same leads. They call it “the grind”… 3) work life balance sucks if you try to make a decent living. 10-12 hour days 6 days a week and you might have 70k to show for at the end of the year. You can get a job at in-and-out and make better living + benefits. At the end it can be worth a try for some people and few might make a good living after a while. I personally disagree with the way they do business and will not be a part of it.

Pros

Can make very good money if you move up quickly.

Cons

Was presented as insurance sales with warm leads and you wouldn’t have to ask friends and family members to sign up. They said they’d cover all expenses for certification course and testing but when you finish they have you work/train with a mentor/lead basically just memorize a script and cold call people that had interest a year or two ago. Mostly dead numbers or people that wanted more information on a child safety kit that they were sponsored with. After a month of being certified and training my boss/mentor gave me one of his smaller sales as a good job good faith move. That turned out to be how I got “refunded” for my test/certification. I left the company not long after this and not seeing any success mostly because the leads were awful and didn’t see myself going anywhere with it. Then 2 months later I received a letter in the mail trying to recover more than the total price I received for that small sale. I highly recommend looking elsewhere it’s a 1 out of 1000 type of person that can succeed here.
