Pros

Great organization with a strong mission and decent pay/benefits. Much of the workforce has committed 15+ years, so lots of knowledge around.

Cons

New CEO. The culture changed after he arrived in June. Employees work from a place of fear and are constantly chasing the goal post. The direction is not clear but what is is his need to be highlighted at every turn.

Pros

Previously a great and very stable place to work with decent compensation, generally fair work/life balance, and colleagues who are genuinely passionate about what they do.

Cons

New CEO is taking a hammer instead of a scalpel in reshaping the org. Complete whiplash from previous leadership, with no positive change to show for it. Uncertainty breeds fear, not loyalty. A year ago, I couldn’t imagine leaving. Now I’m looking for the exit along with many many others. The brain drain that is already under way will set the AMA back considerably at a critical time of need for a strong voice to push back against the dismantling of our nation’s public heath apparatus.

Cons

The new CEO is all about data and numbers over people. He's unctuous and completely untrustworthy. All surface, no substance.
