Pros

being outside in the summer. Management thinks they own you but the power is yours.

Cons

Unless your last name is Lawler you probably wont get anywhere with this company. Screw up brother became the new president at my branch in NJ! Stay away at all costs!

Pros

- If you are good at juking the system, don’t have much compassion or morals, and are totally incompetent but good at throwing others under the bus WHILE making money somehow, you will do well here. Those are the people running the show, and have been for years. You could even do something to get fired, but if you know somebody, you can get rehired instantly. - You could work here a long time, but…

Cons

- Zero safety commitment. Okay, maybe slightly above minimum, but I don’t know how that can be. Short staffed facilities, dangerously staffed facilities, and no safety support. Crazy, because at one time, they had a top notch safety team in place but they totally mismanaged them and dismantled the department. When given a choice between saving lives or being more profitable, their culture is the latter. Sad, because they touch so many lives every Summer, but not the way they should. And being safer can actually save them money, short and long term, if they don’t really care about the lives. All they really care about is whether the pool is open and whether somebody complained if it’s not, which it’s never not, because they don’t close the pools for normal reasons like not enough trained staff, or bad chem readings, or other things that just happen. - They don’t care about your career, or you as a person. Your career is nothing because they hide behind the right to hire/fire law as reason to just say “you’re done”. I have seen them do it. I have done it. It was done to me. It was done to others. It’s the MO. And it’s not like they try to manage you prior, tell you any shortcomings, let you know what needs to be changed. From a somewhat cowardly position, they make a “business decision” or “different direction” or “we can’t tell you”. I have seen people lose their entire careers after dedicated and meaningful service, not only making money for the company, but making a positive impact in service provided to the customer and the patrons.

Pros

This 100% depends if you're in "the club" or not There's absolutely zero professionalism (can be a pro but also a con depending if your in that club or not) If you're part of the club you can do w.e. you want (they like young pretty girls in the nanuet office so if you don't mind being hired as eye candy go for it you can't do any wrong but you'll have to be a bit flirty)

Cons

It's ran like a frathouse. Your paychecks will always be wrong You will be expected to work 24/7 (not even an exaggeration) Promised raises/bonuses don't happen unless you're dating someone in management (imagine your coworker is your boss gf) Constantly pressured into doing unethical things with certifications if you're an instructor (asked to add names and fill out answer sheets for people that weren't in the lifeguard certification course)
