Pays well and has flexible hours. I recommend it as a fun part time summer job.

Cons

Company could be better organized and gain a better understanding of their employees. There is a high turnover of supervisors staff.

Guests at Alpine were slightly snobby but American Pool has a large selection of pools and they can place you wherever you want

In 2009 I worked as a lifeguard for "Recreational Management Services (RMS)" which I believe is under the American Pool Enterprises umbrella of companies. They had an online schedule (swap board?) I could access and literally mark which days I wanted to work each week, and where. The system for keeping track of paid hours was done with a phone-in, making sure no valuable hours were unpaid.

Cons

Since I was the fill-in lifeguard guy I had to drive to a bunch of different locations. This was before I had a smartphone... pay could also be better, certification costs money too...
