Pros

Monday - Friday work schedule, decent pay.

Cons

No vacation accrual in first year of service, no merit increases ever, no incentive for hard work. With the company being a contractor, if the supported client doesn't like you, no matter how good of job you do, you will be gone. It is just like working for a temporary agency except that if the client you work for doesn't want you there any more, you lose your job, not being able to ever work for another one of their clients ever again.

I'm sorry that your experience with us was less than satisfactory but thank you for being candid. Our contracts do vary by client, to meet the needs of their business. One of our core values is to be customer-centric and our Operations & Account Manager teams work very hard at providing the best possible service. While you were with us, it is correct that that was a year of no increases. This year, however, we were able to provide merit-based increases to the majority of our employees.

Pros

paycheck every week, 5 day work week, weekends off, great people in the shop, work at your own pace, heated shop for the winter

Cons

Amerit Fleet Solutions is a perfect example of a company that has no business in the automotive repair world, and for a company that "believes" in team work they sure do know how to make the most valuable team players feel unappreciated. The company has no real idea of what goes into diagnosing and repairing a vehicle. They have no true understanding of the diagnosis process and believe a "fault code" means faulty part every time. I mean why would you fix the vehicle right the first time when you can have it come back two or three times for the same issue? Maybe they enjoy the extra work, job security I guess. Communication is another big issue at the location I worked at. No one knows whats going on, who is doing what, or where and when parts are coming in. You can explain one thing to one individual and then forced to do it again to another because the other person failed to relay any of it. Another area I find interesting is the high turn over rate in the front office, I mean the office staff is like a border check point, they come in throw some papers around and leave. This company rewards the incompetent employees and fails to reward or at least acknowledge the ones that keep everything going behind the scenes. I cant say this company has no standards, because that would be lying. It has very low standards, they preach quality and attention to detail but they fail to open their eyes to the real problem areas. Best way to describe it would be to put a band aid on a bullet hole wound. Benefits are really not that great, the pay is moderate, the reimbursement for tests and training is a long annoying process that takes up to much time and makes it not even worth it. If you are in a jam and in need of a job this place will do, just don't expect to retire from this company, or really don't plan on anything more then the day your working cause your not promised tomorrow.

I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t have a good experience. We do encourage employees at all levels to voice their concerns and ideas. While AFS believes that feedback via Glassdoor is essential to improving as a company, we would like to respond to some of the comments as listed in this review. First, AFS seeks qualified, talented employees at all levels and pays competitive wages. Our benefits, including healthcare, dental and paid time off are also competitive in the market. AFS, like many companies in this industry does have some turnover – we are working very hard to reduce this by increasing our employee engagement, reviewing our benefits and becoming more and more transparent with our employees around the country. While we are seeing progress in this area, we know we have more work to do. We do reject the assertion in this review that AFS has low standards. We could not remain in business and continue to grow well above the industry rate by having low standards. We have outstanding practices that are revolutionary in the industry and deliver a truly unique solution to our clients. Although innovation is sometimes very challenging, we believe in the talents of our individual employees and are proud of the 100% they give every day. Together, we will continue to improve and deliver excellence to our customers.

Thank you and I'm glad that you had a great experience! While our employees are spread across the country, we really are trying to create an environment where everybody can contribute in a positive fashion and feel that their efforts and opinions are valued and respected.
