Pros

Great Benefits Most coworkers are helpful Training is well done

Cons

Horrible Management - They hire managers based on degrees alone. 90% of the time the person hired has a degree in something not insurance related and ends up knowing nothing. They spend their time browsing the internet and refusing to help. Really the only reason I left this job.

Thank you for your review and feedback. We appreciate your comments about our training and the teamwork here. Please know that we work hard in these areas to ensure that our employees feel supported and connected to a team. In regards to your comments about degree requirements – some of our Future Leaders Program positions also accept related insurance experience at Amica in lieu of a degree. In order to better understand your concerns about management and discuss the rest of your review, we’d appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly. If you’re interested, please email us at employeefeedback@amica.com so we can get in touch. Thank you.

Pros

I have worked for Amica Life for 3 years. The pay is good; a base pay is given with bonuses paying about 40%+ of your total pay. Sales targets are manageable and the supervisors are amazing. This is the entry level job you get so that you can get promoted into other parts of the company for a long term career.

Cons

To get a promotion into another part of the company, plan to work this job 2+ years, so come in loving sales. You will feel like it's a rat race to get bonuses, which sometimes just don't pay what you were hoping for. You will make decent money here, but don't expect six figures.

Thank you for your review and recommendation for our company as well as the feedback you provided regarding promotions and pay. Regarding your comments about compensation – we regularly review market data to ensure that our total rewards package is competitive in the industry, creating a balance between pay and benefits. Also, please know that while your promotional eligibility is not hindered if you stay within a department, some of our departments do have a minimum service expectation before you post out. If you’d like to speak with us about your review or concerns in further detail, please feel free to reach out to us at employeefeedback@amica.com as we’d be happy to have someone get in touch with you to discuss. Thank you.
