Pros

Get a gift box after birth of a child

Cons

Bait and Switch. They will tell you you only have to work a Saturday or two and then ask for more while giving the impression if you do not choose your days, they will choose for you. In terms of benefits they are always 10 steps behind all other companies in offering benefits. If you want to be a manager be ready to move every 2 years.

Thank you for your review. When it comes to coverage on weekends, managers may request volunteers when the call volume is high to provide the needed service for our customers. Regarding your concerns about benefits, we’ve designed our total rewards package to provide a balance between pay and benefits. If you’d like to discuss these concerns with us in further detail, please email us at employeefeedback@amica.com with additional details as we’d be happy to address them with you directly. Thank you.

Too many negative changes

Pros

Good benefits, fair bonus structure, flexible work schedule

Cons

I worked at Amica for 4 years. This was a great place to work for a couple of years at first but then micromanagement started. They even installed a blow horn to go off whenever there were calls in cue. The noise was very loud and caused more stress on the people who were already on the phone talking to customers. This company only cared about me while I was a top performing sales rep. As soon as my work began declining because of the work environment they created I started seeing unfair disciplinary actions. Also they are always switching management around which makes for inconsistent information on procedures. All the co-workers and management that made the office bearable either left or transferred out of this office and I was unjustly let go soon after they left. Very difficult to be promoted and the only way to climb up the corporate latter is to be able to relocate every year or so all over the country.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We are not aware of any devices being used to make noises when there are calls in the queue. We strive to create a positive and comfortable work environment in our offices. Regarding your comments about relocation, while being able to relocate to our different branches does provide more opportunities for promotion, it is not mandatory for upward mobility here at Amica. We’re always listening and would like hear more about the concerns you’ve listed. If you’re interested, please send us additional details by emailing EmployeeFeedback@amica.com.

Breaks laws

Pros

The benefits are about the only decent thing at the company

Cons

Doesn't follow laws. By this I mean brings disciplinary actions against persons whose disability causes performance less than that of others. Company did not provide accommodations for disability when asked. Company said they would stop bullying but did not. When I said I had to quit but preferred the situation be fixed and my job given back the company refused.
