Terrible management, constant violations of the OSH Act, employees are not allowed at the office when HR visits (HUGE red flag), assigning employers to jobs without experience, training, or correct certifications (thus sending the entire staff into a frenzy when things go wrong), intentional withholding of pay raises to help the "big guys" cash in on their bonuses, constant screw ups in the office with zero penalty, inspectors held to a higher standard than their employers, threatening write ups or actually giving you them for one-time mistakes and then continuously making those mistakes themselves (again, with ZERO penalty), no breaks even after 16+ hours of non-stop work (I've worked over 35 without a break myself... OSHA is NOT withheld so don't expect it to be), inadequate compensation for gas despite stating compensation is due, inadequate training and illegal activity at the terminals (I was taught to "pencil whip" my first few times on the job... and then was told I was doing something highly illegal despite learning this from a guy who had 5+ years of experience AND got a promotion), never stick to the schedule given (your off days will likely not be considered off days, expect a call and ignore your calendar), exactly one woman and one POC employed for the sake of upholding legal diversity (everyone else is a caucasian or hispanic male, guaranteed), bosses are allowed to cut corners and make their jobs easier by requiring you send every little detail of your job to them over text so that THEY don't have to make office trips, but God FORBID you ask for assistance on a C5 job (you are not entitled to anything, your employers are, apparently, entitled to absolutely everything, including but not limited to failure to show up to the office or answering phone calls when needed), constantly in and out of employees and understaffed due to their disorganization and failure to give credit to their own workers, impossibly short notices for "required" safety meetings and it is never reported when those who miss said meetings aren't there and therefore don't know what they're entitled to by law and the guidelines they need to follow... thus creating a largely unsafe environment as a whole, inexperienced business overall. I can't believe AmSpec is still up and running. HR, OSHA, EEOC, etc should all take a long, hard look at the ins and outs of this company. You'll find a million things to shut them down for, if not to provide some compensation for the employees that basically dedicate their life to this company nonstop only to get screwed in the end and blamed for things out of their control. Do NOT work here. It's not even worth using it as a stepping stone to a better job - they do NOT care about you and are self serving to the interest of those making more money at the top of the business. They couldn't care less if they have workers who actually know what they're doing and have experience. They want to recycle inexperienced, new workers to save themselves a bigger paycheck. You won't see many people making it further than a year at most, and if they've worked there longer, they've thrown multiple people under the bus and cut many corners to get there. Now they're cliqued up and playing their employees all while never going out into the field themselves and giving no leeway to human error. Unless you're an experienced pencil pusher and hope to steal an office job, you definitely don't want to be an inspector. You'd find better treatment and organization at a fast food restaurant.
