Pros

Amy's has a strong commitment to both their product AND their people. They walk the talk when it comes to human, conscientious food made in a delicious way. Employees are encourage to bring new ideas to the table and the company really comes together to make those good ideas happen.

Cons

Amy's is not a profit driven company, so there are opportunities to improve the pay for the region, although the benefits are exceptional.

Pros

Great philosophy as a company and a brand There are some great people there who grin and bare it

Cons

Where to start? Passive-aggressive management that pretends issues don't exist, vindictive (under-qualified) supervisors who power-trip and treat new employees terribly, incredibly hostile employees, some discrimination (I wouldn't call it racism, but it come close), regular hazing, no due process for employees who are being disadvantaged, incredibly disorganized and work schedules completely disrespectful of work-life balance. On the whole, it feels like management are mostly under-qualified and trying to fake their way through it. There is no clear vision, supervision, or accountability at the top. Here are a few exact quotes shared with my during my time there... from supervisors or higher- "Amy's isn't a racist place to work. There is a policy that there is no racism, so there isn't any" "While we don't have a racist component to our culture, we need to be extra careful we manage situations that appear to be racist, even though they really aren't. We don't want people to think we approve of that sort of discrimination just because it appears to be happening" "Why can't I pick the people I want to work on my team? Why does HR and the temp agency get to decide? I will change the job description to say "Must Speak Spanish" as a requirement" "He's no good. He's always happy and talking. One time he got hurt and asked if he could sit in a chair for a minute. I can't use workers who always need chairs"

Pros

Great products that you feel proud to help create, very nice owners, good benefits, will provide all supplies necessary for tasks if requested, fun celebratory events, good safety training, fun atmosphere/environment, genuine care towards product from most, company has a lot of integrity (not money motivated), gives out free products, family friendly environment, onsite medical clinic, good monitoring of work done to assure that persons are safe, good security team, good career opportunities, willing to send employees to add certificates/licences to their resume, encourages education, compliant with regulations, well prepared for inspections which gives employees satisfaction in a job well done, incentivizes safe work practices, tries hard to collect employee feedback from all persons

Cons

Poor HR department, annual reviews are poorly done, financial incentives are lacking, hires persons lacking expertise, significant nepotism, passive aggressive political views from management, disorganized employee training, mild misandry and misogyny, complacency from friends of owners, unprofessional work practices, high level positions lack expertise, fails to implement workplace with no hierarchical standing as advertised, blatant fraternization (I believe there's no policy against fraternization), workplace handles disputes poorly, workplace incentivizes getting persons in trouble, punishes persons for honest mistakes, little incentive to be dependable employee and have strong attendance record, lack of transparency, untrained upper level employees
