Pros

Currently can work from home but they are pushing to go back in office

Cons

It's a pyramid scheme on the sales side with over 1000 sales reps and very few manager / director opportunities. They sell their "Leadership development program" as a fast track to climb the ladder but many that go through the program still end up back in the same entry level sale positions for years to come. The company as a whole does not care about their customers "contractors" and is more interested in squeezing every dollar out of them than building a beneficial relationship. These are all complaints that have been stated multiple times online and I wish I would have researched more before taking the job.

Pros

Remote work, good benefits, and good pay at the time

Cons

Unrealistic revenue goals while also increasing the costs to customers. For example, if you acquired a contractor for the customer and the price for the job was $10k then you were expected to add an additional 15-20% on top of the contractors cost. Also, you were pushed to talk the contractor down so you can get more money for the company and still charge the client more. Completely unethical company taking advantage of people who do not know about the construction industry. If you missed targets in the first month, then you go on a performance plan. If you are not on track by week 2, you got the option to quit or risk getting fired. They are 100% a numbers company. Meaning that you are just another number to them at the end of the day along with the customers. They only care about revenue and not helping clients.

Pros

The only genuine pros I can give is you will meet a few cool people, and if you’re fortunate you’ll get the thrill of closing a few sales.

Cons

The training and recruitment process is highly deceptive. You’ll be given an absolute lie of an estimate that the average sales person makes 70k. This is simply not true.. The average pay is low 30K. They are referring to the “mean” pay of successful people who are tenured a year or more. The average person will not make it past the first 3 months, therefore their pace will be in the early 30,000s. On top of that.. this is not real sales. It is telemarketing. And it’s highly manipulative and pushy telemarketing at that. The training is led by mostly recently graduate college students who don’t understand a mature sales process. I can’t speak for every team leader but I’d say chances are they were great at telemarketing but aren’t great at leading a team/teaching. If you succeed you’re among the 20% of people who won’t get laid off after 3 months. Congratulations you’re doing well in a dead end, miserable job. If you’re an outlier you can make a career with Angi, including moving up. Do you want to though? Tough to approve of.
