Pros

Managers and directors reward their favorites handsomely irrespective of performance, so non-performers can have a great carrier here just by playing politics. You can keep humiliating your coworkers in front of your managers to make a name for yourself, while also simultaneously ruining other's. Does wonders during appraisals or work allotment. People at higher designations hide their incompetence by bluffing.

Cons

Managers and Directors, out of non transparency, get full freedom to discriminate, dominate employees and use them at their disposal and dump them post use. They deceive performing employees with flattery, fake appraisal ratings and fake promotions. So, performing employees end up at higher designation but their compensation matches their juniors. Better appraisal is only given to people working in future relevant work because retention of other employees isn't necessary anyway. The local management take names of their favorites, masking everybody else, in the meetings with higher management. They ensure their favorites get better quality work and free time to give RD talks to come in limelight of higher management. In other words, even higher management is fooled by these local management. Employee not showing up at office more then 25% of days for an entire year (pre-covid btw) get rewarded with best appraisal, free time for RD talks, eventually getting moved to a US team! Employees are forced/asked to take the responsibilities of seniors by exploiting their compassion or naivety, so that they can be discredited of these responsibilities. The credit is then given to the favorites. Employees are put in delusion (with fake stories, false promises) that performance gets rewarded after 3-4 years. Eventually employees quit after the 3-4 years of continuous disappointment. Managers openly admit to have benefited from such employees. Some, favorites are bullies and work-place harassers whom the management keeps protecting by hiding complaints against them. Managers have even made everybody vote for their favorites in "peer recognition awards". They simultaneously convinced higher managementthat employees colluded among themselves because they disapprove these award! The "peer recognition awards" was eventually removed. Any kind of new initiative (like coding contest) which might highlight the real performers in their team is strongly discouraged by local management in front of the higher management.

Pros

The CEO is trying very hard to change the culture and bring honesty and accountability.

Cons

Your experience depends on the team, most of them seem ok and hard working. I recently joined this team led by an unethical R&D director that has made a mockery of the agile software development process and continue to release untested software without any new features. They are purposefully creating technically unachievable features and work items at planning time to present to ever changing list of VPs. After the presentations are done the all of them are knowingly closed at the end of the release with incomplete code and minimal testing without delivering the complete features. The Product manager does not want to rock the boat, Since minimal features are released so minimum defects come and every body is happy In our engagement survey we also got a very low score. No one wants to discuss the actual reasons and nothing changed. however since then team is being openly berated by our director about our salaries and that Ansys can not afford to keep people with high salaries as the product is not making money. If we continuing to complain in the survey then we should find new jobs. It seems there is no accountability for senior folks as long as you keep doing fake marketing and power point presentation. At this point there is no direction or plan of what to do. I understand most teams may not be like this but my experience is not good.

Pros

Great people and good technology. These two things alone keep ppl there.

Cons

Local management do not have interest in individuals career progression just how they can use you to make them look better. Job scope always expanding without return. Management are happy for you to be used but doesnt follow with any opportunities. Its who you know if you want to progress. You could be in the same role for 20 years and management would be happy!
