Currently Apex provides a great intern program to YES placements. The interns obtain a very good grounding in the operations, client services and more in regards to an investment administrator. The skills learnt at Apex are transferrable and highly sort after in the Financial Sector. Apex staff in Cape Town are genuinely trying their best and want the Office to succeed. Leadership is honest and apply the open door policy well.

Cons

Unfortunately the company is overworking interns as full time staffers. The workload is unfair to a regular staff member and therefore without interns the administration would fall over. The business struggles to obtain the budget approvals from group to effectively replace talent lost, leaving remaining staff to carry an unfair burden. Pay increases in the passed 2 years has not been higher than 2% 2024 and 3% 2025 with a small bonus of roughly a 5th of monthly pay in 2025. This hardly keeps employees at par with cost of living in any metro of South Africa, Cape Town city rates inflation and medical aid is around 9% meaning pay is behind the curve. Thrive points are awarded, However you will only receive these points annually or if management are generous, This is not regularly awarded across the board.
