      Pros

      Applied Medical has an aggressive and successful product marketing strategy. They design better products (than their two major competitors), manufacture everything in the United States, and sell their products at very competitive prices. They help save hospitals money and that is vital in today's healthcare market

      Cons

      Unfortunately, much of the Sales and Marketing management are former US Surgical and Ethicon managers. There is an extremely political environment. There is also a significant degree of jealousy and in-fighting between the various sales groups in the field.

      Good training, good products, poor comp plan with lack of support from middle management

      Pros

      Good training, inexpensive products which really helps when trying to get your foot in the door with accounts. Very good product evaluation process.

      Cons

      Sales force is irrelevant, if you're selling you are just a name with an attached number with little support. Poor comp plan - has a "gotcha" at every turn. Middle management is bloaded and self serving, many not adding any value to the company.

      Easy first job

      Pros

      It's a good first job out of college - lots of good experience and responsibility Lots of work, never get bored Open door policy of management Company is growing rapidly Friendly employees Everything is done in-house, so you get to see the entire process of medical device manufacturing.

      Cons

      LOW pay - Not many people stay after a few years due to the pay 401k is pretty bad Expected to work overtime (without pay) High turnover rate Lots of work, but not much challenging work
