Pros

- The employees are generally nice. - Easy to land a job. - Good starting point out of school, but get the experience and then get out.

Cons

- Upper management is disconnected from the daily workings of the company. - It is difficult for departments who work together to agree on processes. - Constant infighting and lack of communication/understanding between departments. - Lower than average pay. - High expectation to work extra hours on nights and weekends with no overtime or other compensation. - Complete lack of rewards for hard working employees. - Generous helpings of negative feedback for even the slightest issue. - Complete lack of control over turnover. - New hires are typically not ready for the job until 6 months of employment and are given zero formal training. - Sales inflates customer expectations and uses shady sales tactics to close deals. - Lots of scope creep on projects. - No concrete timelines or planning on projects. - No channels for advancement. - Develops using VB.net.

Pros

On a person by person basis, The people are great to work with. Most everyone in my department is laid back and relaxed. Easy drive from my town. Extreme amounts of information, if you enjoy learning.

Cons

Lack of communication between departments - Work orders are often vague and ambiguous, which often cause problems within our entry level department. Low Pay / High Responsibility - Our entry level department has full administrative rights for both data centers. Anyone else see a problem? Lack of trust - A camera has been installed at our desk (group desk of 4) to watch client media. This camera does not point at the media, it points directly at our desks, media completely outside of camera's sight. But I guess we are an entry level department..

Pros

There are lots of entry level jobs but it can be difficult to advance. The supervisors are great. They care about the employees The work is challenging and engaging. This company was conscientious about making sure that direct managers routinely evaluated performance.

Cons

There is very poor communication within the company. This company has a problem with a lack of long term vision. They implement programs and discontinue them before they are fully complete. Like many companies, Applied Systems cut benefits nearly every year.
