Pros

The job was 100% remote

Cons

Nothing really, they were a bit shady and sometimes give PIP as a way to lay people off I guess

Pros

Work From Home Great Co-workers Always busy Stable company for now I have loved my job itself over the past 20 years and the people I have worked one on one with. When I started many many years ago the culture and energy was amazing.

Cons

20 years ago we had 3-5 VPs and lots of people actually doing the work. Today there seems to be more Sr VPs, VPs, Directors, CEOs, CTOs, Presidents and 6 figure Sr management than there are people actually working. Every time all these idea guys get hired they create them a new role and they blaze a trail of destruction. When this falls flat, they mass fire the peons actually doing the work and hire more upper management. An area was not making enough money...so they fired most of the testers, almost half the developers, POs, all the scrum masters had been let go by this point already and another idea guy came onboard. Then when the software could not keep up with demand after tripling everyone's workload - they fired just about all the workers in that area. They brag about how they are making money hand over fist, add more management and stiff the regular employees when it comes to pay and benefits. They do the bare minimum and tell us how lucky we are to work here. They change job titles and then the new hires are in India where pay and benefits are less. 20 years ago none of this was even conceivable. We had job security - today unless you are upper management - you have no job security. None. They want everyone filling out surveys telling them how great they are and employees are terrified of telling the truth or just ignore them. I love the company I hired into - since Kellner retired it's a different place. The first new CEO after him was a nightmare, killed the culture and he even held an all hands meeting asking everyone to post positive Glassdoor reviews. The newest one seems like a really great and smart guy, he is very likeable - but when it comes down too it, most of the new people he has brought on board have created an environment that is day to day stressful and scary. Take things with a grain of salt you hear from of most of the new SVPs and especially the CTO (another example of a new position created for more Sr management.) Management that the employees trusted that tried to rally for employees being treated unfairly and find common ground, just ended up getting let go unexpectedly.
