The company is a selling piece for an investment firm. The company has been acquired a few times recently, and the way they make and spend money would tell you the same story. They don't take risks, they pay their senior management ridiculous money, and leave the rest of the workers to the dogs. If you're willing to brown nose it, rat out people underneath you, and be 'part of TEAM APPLIED,' you will be just fine. The CEO in place was put here to flip the company. The CEO has done this before, look up Reid French's previous endeavors and you'll see why your wage is what it is.
Also, the wage disbursement is hilarious. I came into my position making more than my mentor. You want more money? Threaten to leave, assuming you're of value.
The culture of how things are done, from the drone voices of people working for 20+ years killing time until retirement, to the hilarious circus called product development, it all feels very unmotivated, stagnant, and depressing. You want to help change the company? Change it negatively by leaving for a company who compensates fairly. You try to care, and you get shot down with collective "Well, that's how it is" and shrugs of indifference. It is what it is, you are a cog in the machine until you choose not to be anymore.
