Pros

Working from the modern UK office, Applied Systems have improved so many things for the employees under the current leadership. The Company culture is excellent now (hasn't always been that way) and employees are part of the Company rather than just being a resource.

Cons

Still many process practices are old school and need modernising (but this is starting to happen).

Pros

Outstanding culture! The team really believes in what it is doing, which is easy to do because we have great products you can get behind, lots of industry experts on the team, and friendly people to work with. Most of upper management are down to earth people that are great to work for/with. Internal opportunities are realistic. I’ve seen many people transfer or move up, myself included. Work-life balance is also great. Managers tend to understand that “life happens” and are flexible when you have personal matters to deal with. Benefits are standard but solid, and there a lots of events and perks that make the environment fun (holiday parties, free bagel day, Thanksgiving lunch, summer BBQ, Halloween costume contest, random employee surprise days, birthday paid day off, relaxed dress code, work from home opportunities). Working here is not without its stresses being that we are growing rapidly, but you can come in, have fun, and really feel like you make a difference if you are willing to put in the work.

Cons

Not the place to “get rich” unless you work in sales, upper management, or a few other select areas, though efforts to improve compensation seem to be happening as of late. There is some lack of accountability at the middle-management level – sometimes messages are not disseminated properly or managers don’t address little problems because they don’t want to deal with them. The of the guard over the last few years resulted in some battles between “old” and “new” ways, but that seems to be settling down.
